My husband and I went to the Brasserie for Sunday lunch today (17 July 2011) and we were absolutely shocked at the prices of the food in the Brasserie. We could not believe how expensive they were. For example they were charging €9.95 for a BLT and over €11 euro for chicken goujons with a dip!!!! What are they thinking?
They may use the excuse of overheads etc. But there are plenty of other restaurants and cafes in the city centre who don't charge these outrages prices. Just because they are very close to the shopping centre they think they can charge exorbitant prices. Have they forgotten that there is a recession!
Needless to say we walked out of the restaurant and went to a lovely newly opened restaurant on the quay close to Dooleys Hotel, I noticed on their menu that they charged €6.95 for their BLT and that included salad and french fries and a very large cup of coffee only cost €2.50. Now that's what I call good value for money.
I really think that the Brasserie should reconsider the price of their food. Have they given their customers the new VAT discount??? I wonder?

Food here is reasonably priced home cooking type dishes. Decent atmosphere and staff. Good spot for lunch.
